The
Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that rest rooms and other rooms
be identified with signage that is produced with both grade 1 and grade 2 braille,
and that the signs be mounted at a height that is reachable by someone in a
wheelchair. The signs are produced by routing the shapes and braille into different
materials, which are then painted, assembled and mounted at the required height.
These requirements are for all public buildings and the codes are strictly enforced.
