Styrene® is PVC (poly vinyl chloride), rather than plastic. We use it very similarly, but as a substitute to, coroplast. Lightweight, yet durable and economical, it has many uses. It comes in several densities, from paper thin to 1/2" thick. It is flat sheet material with no corrugations like coroplast, so it is better for applying full color graphics printed as large sheets. It only comes in white, but can easily be painted or coated with vinyl to achieve color backgrounds.
